Art Show Collection

Collection Description

The collection in the first art show included seven pieces with almost the same message and design style. Each piece had a story behind it and was organically inspired. The ideas came to me naturally and sporadically. (means over time)

The first show offers five categories of designs, 1. Molood, 2. Gohar, 3. Firozeh, 4. Boteh Jegheh, 5. Khoshe, 6. Path to Peace, 7. Dar Golestaneh (At Flower Garden)

1. Molood

My very first artwork collection is called Molood, my mother’s name, which means “born”. With this collection, the first wood burned piece was born. In June 2019, my son taught me the basics of wood burning. Later, by watching tutorial videos on YouTube and reading pyrography books and websites, my technique improved, and my designs became more creative and unique. My designs were inspired by my positive attitude towards life, and they depict positive quotes and affirmations on natural wood slices. “Good Vibes Only!” was my very first piece that I wood burned.

2. Gohar

Gohar was my grandmother’s name. The Gohar collection includes a simple design with different tonal values and textures. This collection was inspired by everyday life routines and traditions in different cultures, such as Persian or Turkish.  As well as from the simple things in life such as the pleasure of drinking tea or coffee burned on wooden plaques that can be used either as a tray or as home décor. Each design radiates peace and tranquility with the message of “Enjoy the Little Things!” inspired by my grandma who was the symbol of being content with the little things, and living in the moment. This was when the ELTAwood, the name of the brand was born. ELTA stands for Enjoy the Little Things Art. This time coincided with the Covid-19 quarantine which began in March 2020. During the quarantine,  I decided to enjoy the little things, like my grandma did during the most unprecedented days of our life. THIS IS TERRIFIC>>>>LOVE IT>  it may need to be 2 paragraphs. Please make the corrections and I will reread

3. Firoozeh

The third collection is called Firoozeh. In designing this collection, the use of one element is significant, the color turquoise. Firoozeh, or turquoise, is a beautiful stone that appears in a stream of heavenly colors, from aqua blue to light azure green. The beauty of turquoise has been highly prized for centuries in various cultures, from Persian and Egyptian royalty to native people in the Americas. Because of its heavenly energy, turquoise is believed to provide not only protection from negativity but also a clear connection to the purity of natural elements, especially the elements of water and air. Love this

This collection mainly reflects Rumi’s poetry and Sama illustration. Rumi is a renowned Persian poet and philosopher whose poetry speaks of love that infuses the world. Rumi believed passionately in the use of music, poetry, and dance as a path for reaching God. For Rumi, music helped devotees to focus their whole being on the divine and to do this so intensely that the soul was both destroyed and resurrected. It was from these ideas that the practice of whirling Dervishes developed into a ritual form. Sama represents a mystical journey of spiritual ascent through mind and love to the Perfect One. In this journey, the seeker symbolically turns towards the truth, grows through love, abandons the ego, finds the truth and arrives at the Perfect. The seeker then returns from this spiritual journey, with greater maturity, to love and to be of service to the whole of creation without discrimination about beliefs, races, classes, and nations

4. Boteh Jegheh

This collection illustrates Bothe Jegheh or paisley which is an ancient art symbol, representing beauty and harmony. Boteh Jehgeh’s origins stem from old religious beliefs, and its meaning could symbolize the sun. This collection includes kitchen utensils, decorative frames, and wall art.

5. Khoshe

Khoshe, or wheat, is viewed as a gift from Heaven and the basis of the basic food in many cultures. It represents the Fall when we  harvest. This collection consists of mostly kitchen utensils including cutting boards, spoons, and table coasters.

6. Path to Peace

Path to peace, as its title says has been designed to radiate peace and a calm atmosphere, particularly at this unprecedented time when we all need a break. This collection reflects the beauty of diversity and inclusion with the message of unity. A combination of different cultures, traditions, and ideas, in line with meditative and motivational quotes, to promote the well-being of self and community.

The beauty of this collection lies in its flexibility in designing the messages that can be formed on different types of wood-based materials with different functions or purposes like wall clocks, decorative plates, ornaments, coasters, mouse pads, key holders, key fobs, and door hanger. They can also serve as a unique and special gift for different events and holidays, like weddings, birthdays, Valentine’s Day and anniversaries to name a few.

7. At Golestaneh

Last, but not the least, At Golestaneh collection inspired by Sohrab Sepehri’s poem named “At Golestaneh”. This collection consists of only one piece of art that is a combination of pyrography, calligraphy, and painting. Our original idea of combining different techniques created by two artists, a pyrographer and a painter makes this piece of art unique. This piece of art resonates Sohrab Sepehri’s poem called “The Footsteps of Water”. The content of the work which says, “Eyes should be washed; in another way we should see” was the origin of creating this unique art piece.

This works with message adapted from a Sohrab Sepehri a renowned Persian poet illustrates how we can see things in another way and experience a new fascinating adventure.
